In gratitude for Christian Science I relate the following healing.

For considerable time I had an enlarged big toe joint and so much inflammation and acute pain that I could not wear a normal shoe. The branch Church of Christ, Scientist, of which I was then a member was giving a Christian Science lecture. I was an usher on outside duty, which meant a long period of standing. I felt I could not go in the shoes I had worn for a long time, and the day before the lecture I managed with great difficulty to get a new pair. However, when I tried to wear them in the evening, I could not possibly keep them on.

The following morning I sat down to do prayerful preparatory work for the lecture. I began by being grateful that the healing message of the Christ, Truth, was to be given out in our community. Then I was thankful to be a member of the church giving out this Truth. I saw that I was not going to the lecture as a corporeal personality: God did not know a corporeal personality. I was going as an individual consciousness supported by Truth.
