"Draw nigh to God"
That they are lost and are victims of an unhappy fate in a world torn by confusion, hate, and greed, is the sad belief and outlook of more than a few people today. Materialistic belief of life in and of matter, which causes the individual to succumb to his material surroundings of personalities and localized environment, has led many to seek in the wrong direction for the peace of mind and success they so earnestly desire. Some are seeking escape through drugs, lawlessness, and immorality. Indeed, even the teachings of orthodox religions have pictured man as conceived in sin and living in iniquity, from which he must be saved.
Such thinking and teaching is being deeply challenged today by increasing numbers of concerned thinkers, those who are dissatisfied with the crumbling conventionality of false doctrines so long accepted by suffering humanity. This challenging, however, is not new; indeed it has been going on for centuries by spiritually-minded thinkers who in some degree accept the teaching of the Master, Christ Jesus, that the kingdom of heaven is present here and now.
Today, many seekers for the truth are turning to that original book, the Bible, in their search for the way out of difficulty and despair and are finding peace in a better understanding of God. These are finding, too, that the ancient worthies, the patriarchs, prophets, and apostles, recognized mankind's need of answers to similar questions.
