It is customary for members of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship who have served continuously for a number of years to take time off for a period and devote themselves to the study and practice of Christian Science. The Christian Science Board of Directors announces that those named below will take time for this purpose beginning July 1, 1969:

Miss Lela May Aultman of Denver, Colorado, Francis William Cousins of Manchester, England, and Arnold H. Exo of Chicago, Illinois., have signified their desire to retire from membership on the Board of Lectureship so that they may devote all of their time to the teaching and practice of Christian Science.
NEW MEMBERS OF THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE BOARD OF LECTURESHIP
Donald Leslie Gore, C. S. B., a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, now lives in Fort Worth, Texas, where he is a teacher and practitioner of Christian Science. Mr. Gore's family became interested in Christian Science through a healing his mother experienced in 1931, and she subsequently enrolled him in a Christian Science Sunday School.
Mr. Gore studied at the Webb Institute of Naval Architecture in New York from 1944 to 1946 during service in the United States Navy. He later graduated from The Principia College. He served at The Christian Science Publishing Society from 1948 to 1951. He entered the public practice of Christian Science in 1951 and became a Christian Science teacher in 1964. He has been active in branch churches in Oklahoma City and Fort Worth and has served as First Reader and as a member of the executive board.
Mr. Gore has been a Christian Science Minister for the Armed Services for a number of years.
Joseph G. Heard, C. S., of Miami, Florida, enters the lecture work after sixteen years of valued service with the Department of Branches and Practitioners of The Mother Church. Since 1966 he has been Manager of the Youth Division of the Department of Branches and Practitioners.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Heard grew up in Miami, Florida. He earned his B. S. and Juris Doctor degrees at the University of Miami.
Mr. Heard practiced law in Florida, where he also served as Special Master in Chancery, Eleventh Judicial Circuit Court. He was a naval officer during World War II and a Navy Chaplain during the Korean War.
He was raised in Christian Science and joined The Mother Church in 1942. Mr. Heard had Primary class instruction in 1946 and entered the public practice of Christian Science in San Diego, California, in 1952. He has been active in branch churches in Miami and Wellesley, Massachusetts.
Colonel William Little, C. S. B., voluntarily retired from the United States Regular Army in 1956 to enter the public practice of Christian Science. He became a Christian Science teacher in 1964 and teaches in Washington, D. C.
He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and received a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration. He has had various command, general staff, industrial, and research and development assignments during his military service.
A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Colonel Little joined The Mother Church in 1925 and received Primary class instruction in 1930 while a cadet at West Point. He has been a member of a number of branch churches, serving as First and Second Reader, member of the executive board, and in other capacities. Colonel Little was Committee on Publication for Virginia from 1963 to 1965.
Robert H. Mitchell, C. S. B., a native of Scotland, received his education in Edinburgh. He was healed of deafness through Christian Science when a young man. Two years later, in 1952, he joined The Mother Church. In 1953 he received Primary class instruction, and he entered the public practice of Christian Science a year after that. He became a Christian Science teacher in 1964.
Mr. Mitchell served as Committee on Publication for Midlothian for nine years, and also has been Christian Science Minister for the Armed Services in Scotland. He is a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Edinburgh, where he has served as First Reader and as a member of the executive board.
Miss Jessica Pickett, C. S., has worked in advertising and public relations and as manager of an antique and interior decorating business. She holds a Ph. B. degree from the University of Chicago. Miss Pickett is now a Christian Science practitioner in Chicago, Illinois, having entered the practice in 1957.
She is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, where her mother's family were pioneer workers in Christian Science. Earlier members of the family were charter members of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Atlanta, and joined The Mother Church in 1893. Miss Pickett herself joined The Mother Church in 1937, and she had Primary class instruction in 1939.
Miss Pickett has been a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Oak Park, Illinois, and of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago. She is now a member of Seventeenth Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago. She has served as clerk, a member of the executive board, and as Second Reader in her church work.
James E. Pike, C. S., of Chicago, Illinois, joined The Mother Church in 1943. He learned of Christian Science during his college years, and during World War II, while in military service, he was a volunteer Christian Science Worker in Europe. He was decorated with the Bronze Star medal for gallantry in action during his military service.
Mr. Pike earned his A. B. degree from DePauw University. He later worked as administrative assistant to the president of Wabash College, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, He is a native of Hudson, Indiana.
He received Primary class instruction in 1949 and entered the public practice of Christian Science in 1956. He is a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Evans ton, Illinois, where he has served as chairman of the executive board, First Reader, and soloist.
Miss Patricia Tuttle, C. S., a native of Los Angeles, California, has been a Christian Scientist since her earliest years. She joined The Mother Church in 1948, received Primary class instruction in 1952, and entered the public practice of Christian Science in 1964 while living in Denmark. Miss Tuttle lived and worked in Europe for twelve years.
She holds a B. A. degree from San Diego State College. She holds a teaching credential for elementary and junior high school. She is a charter member of the Christian Science College Organization at San Diego State College.
Miss Tuttle has held membership in branch churches in San Diego and Oakland, California, Eberbach, Germany, and Copenhagen, Denmark. She now lives in San Francisco, where she is a member of Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist. In her branch church work she has served as a member of the executive board, Sunday School superintendent, and on various committees.
Nathaniel Ridgway White, C. S., is known to many Christian Scientists through his writing for The Christian Science Monitor. He first joined the Monitor as a radio news writer in 1937 and served in various positions, including Business and Financial Editor. He twice won both the Loeb Award for distinguished economic writing and the Freedom Award.
Mr. White earned a B. A. degree from Southwestern at Memphis, Tennessee. Mr. White served as a naval officer from 1942 to 1945. He also held the position of Director of Information, The Committee for Economic Development, and has been the Editor of The American Banker.
Mr. White is a lifelong Christian Scientist. He joined The Mother Church in 1927 and received Primary class instruction in 1932. He entered the public practice of Christian Science in 1963 in New York City.
He has served in various capacities in branch churches, including First Reader and chairman of the executive board. A resident of Rumson, New Jersey, Mr. White is presently a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Red Bank, New Jersey.
