In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 332), "The Christ is incorporeal, spiritual,—yea, the divine image and likeness, dispelling the illusions of the senses; the Way, the Truth, and the Life, healing the sick and casting out evils, destroying sin, disease, and death." For the last sixteen years the unfoldment of a greater understanding of this statement and the demonstration of its truth have continued to take place in my experience.

While our children were very young, my husband was unemployed for nearly a year. We were greatly concerned as to where our supply would come from. Through the patient help given us by a Christian Science practitioner we were led to realize that real substance and supply are not material and are never money. We prayed earnestly to lean on God, Mind, and gradually we relinquished our false sense of responsibility and allowed divine Mind to govern our thinking. Then a position appeared for my husband that has proved challenging and fruitful.

As we continued to study our two textbooks, the Bible and Science and Health, and turned more and more to Truth, we experienced many healings with our children. At one time our baby daughter had a severe cough that made it difficult for her to breathe. Through the experience we realized that each individual really belongs to his Father-Mother God, who is always infinitely capable of caring for His own. A complete healing followed on Christmas morning.
