Mary Baker Eddy, the author of Science and Health, states 0N the opening page of the Preface, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." I did just that, obediently leaned upon my spiritual understanding of God, when I had my first healing in Christian Science a few years ago.
We were living on a farm. I was helping with some of the outside work, when my finger was crushed between two pieces of machinery. I was interested in Christian Science and determined to use it to heal this situation. I did not ask for help from a Christian Science practitioner at this time but affirmed the truth of spiritual, indestructible selfhood the best I could and kept searching the Bible and Science and Health to learn more of the truth. The testimonies in the Sentinel were very helpful, along with my prayerful study of the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly.
A few weeks passed, and I telephoned my daughter to tell her that the finger did not seem to be coming along as it should. She helped sustain my thought in the truths I had been learning, and very shortly my finger was as whole as the other fingers. I was completely free of pain during this experience, and my work was not hindered at any time.
I am very grateful for this healing, as well as for others since that time.
I am happy to be a member of The Mother Church. My hope is that this testimony may be of help to someone searching for divine Truth, which always heals when rightly applied.
I am grateful to God for Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and for Mrs. Eddy, who has revealed the Science of Jesus' teachings that we may use it daily.

I am the daughter referred to in my mother's testimony and am grateful to have witnessed the healing mentioned, as well as many other healings that my mother has had in Christian Science.
I am especially grateful for the help of Christian Science in bringing up our two boys and in meeting the problems of human relationship we encounter in daily business associations. The fact that my husband is a devoted student of Christian Science is cause for much gratitude. Membership in The Mother Church and a branch church and the privilege of serving in the latter, as well as class instruction and our yearly association meeting, have been added blessings.
Mrs. Eddy's discovery, Christian Science, has been such a blessing to me and mine! I am truly grateful.
