Mind's Unerring Direction

Mind's direction is always available. If we need a home or a job, we can be divinely guided to take the proper steps to look for one. Our steps should be preceded and accompanied by earnest study of the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy, which will clarify and uplift thinking, establishing it on the true, spiritual basis of absolute Science. Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health, "Working and praying with true motives, your Father will open the way."  Science and Health, p. 325; On a later page she writes, "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way."  p. 454;

Divine Mind is divine Love. As Love's purpose is always to bless, Mind's direction must always and inevitably bless. Mind never loses sight of its idea, man, or halts its beneficent control of him. On the human plane there are many square pegs in round holes, but Mind's perfect, incorporeal ideas are never misdirected; and persistent knowing and trusting of this spiritual truth will correct and adjust whatever seems to be out of place.

There is one essential for experiencing the benefits of divine Mind's direction, that is, simple willingness to accept its wise, unerring, benevolent guidance. This sounds very simple, but human will wants to go its own way. A familiar Old Testament story tells how Jonah, defying a clear directive from God to go to Nineveh, had to learn obedience through suffering and danger. And lack of spiritual understanding, of trust in God's purpose to bless, tends to make one fearful of being deprived of something he often wrongly considers desirable. Human will must be surrendered to enable God's will to be done.
