In appreciation of the many helpful articles and testimonies appearing in each issue of The Christian Science Journal and the Christian Science Sentinel, I wish to submit one of my experiences.

About twelve years ago our son, then in the first grade in school, had a severe case of measles. I prayed as best I knew how at that time and tried to place the child in the care of God, knowing that His goodness and power fill all space and that in reality God's children can never catch or spread a disease of any kind. But there was no sign of healing. Fever and pain prevailed. I felt the need of more understanding to prove God's care for His children and to trust the healing power of Truth. An experienced Christian Science practitioner was called, and she assured me she would help.

Meanwhile, in accordance with his father's wishes, the boy was examined by a doctor, who gave a stern warning to take the boy to the hospital early the next morning. That frightened me because I had no faith in medical means whatever, and I felt positive that Truth could do the healing. I phoned the practitioner, and her calm voice again assured me that all was well. She reminded me that the condition of God's child had always been perfect and was so right now, and also that there was no need for a recuperative period for my son. False fear vanished. When I went back to the boy's room, he was smiling and busy playing quietly in his usual manner. A warm glow of Love's presence filled my consciousness, and I felt a great relief and humble gratitude to God. Our son was healed.
