Order Is Essential

How often we describe someone as well-organized or as completely disorganized! We approve of the former and disapprove of the latter; and rightly so. Students of Christian Science soon discover that the name Principle used as a synonym for God carries with it the underlying thought of law, order, government. A right sense of order is essential. It underlies harmonious living. It rules out confusion, clutter, chaos. Paul, whose thought was permeated with the Christ, the true idea of God recognized this when he wrote, "Let all things be done decently and in order." I Cor. 14:40;

We often cite mathematics as an example of accuracy, precision, dependability. If we are to achieve the correct answer to any mathematical problem confronting us, the laws of this science must be followed explicitly and faithfully, no deviations allowed. Similarly, God, the creator of the universe and man, is evidenced in definite spiritual laws. These govern all creation and demand strict adherence, implicit obedience. No deviations are allowed. When these spiritual laws are followed faithfully, our problems of human living are brought to successful solution. If we are to solve our problems under God's law, it is imperative that our daily lives be in conformity with His nature.

Divine Love must be found ruling our actions with kindness and compassion, divine Truth controlling our thinking with integrity, divine Mind evidenced in our expression of intelligence and wisdom, divine Life manifesting itself in strength and vitality. In just the same way, divine Principle must be apparent in our lives in order, precision, and control.
