Words of Current Interest

The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY designated to be read in Christian Science churches on May 18, 1969.

I ... beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called (Eph. 4:1)

The verb here literally rendered "walk" is constantly used in the New Testament in the sense of "live; conduct oneself; regulate one's life." In the present verse Weymouth translates, "I ... entreat you to live and act as becomes those who have received the call that you have received."

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love (Eph. 4:2)
