With a heart filled with thanks, I think of Mary Baker Eddy and of her richly beneficent work. Through Christian Science I have been brought nearer divine Truth. When I first met a Christian Science practitioner some twenty years ago, I was suffering from a physical and mental breakdown. I had been in a private mental hospital for treatment, and my suffering was great. But medical help failed in my case; the treatment was not successful.

When I heard of Christian Science, I took new courage. I asked the doctor to let me go home. After some opposition my request was complied with. I was thus able to contact a Christian Science practitioner. I shall never forget the first meeting. During our talk I felt noticeable relief. The practitioner told me she would commence treatment if I was ready to hold confidently to God's healing and saving power and if I thenceforth renounced all medical aid. This choice did not require lengthy consideration. Having found the right path, I did not want to stray from it. After a comparatively short time my condition improved, and I was soon completely healed. I never again went back to the doctor.

Step by step I came to understand more fully that God, good, fills all space and that there is no reality in matter.
