It is now more than fifty years since Christian Science was presented to our family. My mother had suffered for many years from an internal condition that doctors in this country and in Europe had been unable to cure. In addition, the drug that had been recommended for relief of pain had created a condition which was almost as bad as the physical problem.
The medical opinion at the time was that an operation might possibly cure the internal trouble but that because of Mother's age and condition it would probably prove fatal, while to take away the drug might cause insanity.
A neighbor recommended Christian Science treatment, and Mother agreed to try it. A Christian Science practitioner was asked to treat her, and within two weeks Mother returned to Washington, District of Columbia, completely healed of both the internal condition and the need for the drug. There was no return of either problem.
