The more one sees of the present fruits of the permissive society, the more one intuitively feels drawn to the values of the restricted society.

So in fact are most people now. While the rebellion against authority, dogmatism, legal sanction, uncritical acceptance of tradition, etc., continues and will continue, what is becoming increasingly certain is that a new set of values and beliefs must be worked out to give some shape to our shapeless society....
