Guidance in Careers

What is it that shapes our experience? Is it environment, war, ambition, economic necessity, the fortuitous circumstance? Are we being guided, or are we being driven? Is our experience one of choice, chance, or necessity? How do we sort out these things on the basis of the metaphysics of Christian Science?

Unfoldment is a spiritually natural process. It doesn't need to be forced or abnormal. Indeed, it cannot be. When we realize that Mind, omnipotent Principle, is the one motivating power, the ideas that express this Mind unfold in orderly process. And the one who perceives this divine order and yields to it can feel the power of Principle shaping his experience.

The first chapter of Genesis describes the earth as being "without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep," and then "the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." Gen. 1:2; The light became evident and form was revealed. This is not unlike our individual lives. Creation is going on in our experience, and it is up to us to learn something of the nature of the one creative power, the divine Mind, and how we can reflect it more accurately.
