I became acquainted with Christian Science in 1931. Each Wednesday and Sunday I went to a church twenty-nine miles from my home. Shortly after I found Christian Science, I was instantaneously healed of a blood disease, much to the surprise of our family physician, because this illness seemed alarming. At that time I myself did not yet understand anything of the healing power of Truth, but I turned to a Christian Science practitioner, who gave me treatment.

Years have passed, and many false beliefs have been overcome. Gratefully I think of the countless blessings I have been privileged to experience during this period. I should like to single out several healings. Perhaps they will illumine the path for many others who are seeking help and cause them to realize that with God all things are possible.

From my youth I suffered because of an inward goiter that, according to medical opinion, was beyond cure because not operable. So I was sent from one specialist to another. All agreed on the same verdict, and finally it was explained to me that I had, at the most, four weeks to live, since the goiter had affected the heart. I was so weak that I could not hold my knife and fork, let alone engage in any physical activity. Thanks to the patience of the Christian Science practitioner who gave me treatment for several years, I was healed. This healing did not take place quickly because a complete change of my thinking was required to destroy the growth of ungodlike qualities.
