Christian Science is surely the pearl of great price and an inheritance far beyond the greatest of all material riches. Our family has been blessed with this great wealth for many years.

My grandmother was first introduced to Christian Science when she was a young woman. Following the birth of her third child she suffered what was medically diagnosed to be an acute case of nervous prostration. For several years she followed the advice of her physicians and tried numerous medical remedies to no avail. Finally one of the doctors suggested that she try "this newfangled religion" which was just becoming known. However, it was some time before she finally heard the words "Christian Science."

She contacted a Christian Science practitioner, who came to her home to see her. The practitioner explained something of the nature of the healing power of the Christ as demonstrated by Christ Jesus and taught in Christian Science. She left her a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy to read. After reading this textbook my grandmother was completely and permanently healed, and her three daughters were subsequently enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School.
