It is about time that I testify to the healings and benefits I have received since beginning my study of Christian Science. Many ills have just fallen away through my reading of the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I visited practitioners from time to time who showed me how to study. Among the healings were those of stomach trouble that I believed I had inherited, chronic colds, and other ailments. The head colds always appeared at regular intervals and lasted a certain number of days. This routine repeated itself until I realized that God does not stand aside to let error run its course. For thirty-seven years I have not been tempted to use any material health aid.

However, there is one experience I want to relate in the hope that it will help someone else. I turned to Christian Science because of a family difficulty. My husband was an inveterate gambler; consequently he never came home when expected. I did everything humanly possible to correct this situation, but nothing I said to him made any impression. The members of his family gave me no comfort. I was told that when I married him I knew he gambled. I was so distraught that I even wrote to a newspaper human relations columnist, and finally I found myself in such a nervous mental state that in despair I turned away completely from the problem as hopeless.
