Christian Science has brought much joy and a sense of dominion and God's loving presence into my experience.

Before I became a student of Christian Science, I experienced a healing which was the starting point of my devotion and love for this Science of being. In endeavoring to administer first aid to an ailing Scotch terrier, I was severely bitten on the lower lip. A triangular piece of flesh was torn from my lip, exposing the lower teeth.

A Christian Science practitioner was called. She told me to study the twenty-third Psalm, to cover the wound with a clean cloth and not to look at it, and to forgive the dog. Her prayerful work calmed my thought so that I could follow these instructions, and I fell asleep for a few hours. When I awoke, there was just a thin red line to show where the wound had been, and this disappeared in a few days and left no sign of a scar. I was profoundly impressed by the completeness of this healing and immediately began the earnest study of Christian Science in an endeavor to learn how it healed. This is a search that has never ended, and it has resulted in the complete dedication of my every effort to the Cause of Christian Science and the glorification of God.
