Kevin and the Bullies
[For children]
When Kevin was in the sixth grade, he moved to northern Michigan. Although he was sorry to leave his best friends back home, Kevin was excited at the idea of living in the north woods. When winter came, he took long walks through the soft, silent snow looking for deer tracks. And he joined a ski class. In his new snowmobile he went skimming over the snowy countryside.
Kevin pored over the owner's manual that came with the machine. His father pointed out how important it was to consult this book before starting or stopping the motor or storing the machine. For smooth running, operate according to manufacturer's instructions was printed in bold letters on the cover.
Kevin thought his new school was okay. He made some friends among other students who liked to do the same things he did.
