For many years of my experience Christian Science has truly been a religion that heals and purifies. When I have correctly applied it, it has met my human needs; but, more important, it has lifted me spiritually. I am humbly grateful.

It was my privilege to learn of Christian Science at an early age and to attend a Christian Science Sunday School. As a result of a neighbor's telling my mother about the Christian Science Sunday School, and how it would welcome me as a pupil, I was enrolled at four years of age. Inasmuch as I had not been wanted at another Protestant Sunday School because of my poor behavior, I was enrolled with some misgivings on my parents' part. However, the love that was expressed in the Christian Science Sunday School so permeated my consciousness that there was a complete change in my attitude.

My mother, eager to find out how this change had occurred, talked with my teacher, who assured her that I not only behaved well but was an inspiration to the rest of the class. This healing led to my parents becoming students of Christian Science, and I am grateful that I had the privilege of being reared in a home where Christian Science was studied and practiced.
