In gratitude for inspiration received from testimonies in the periodicals and at Wednesday evening testimony meetings, I am happy to share the experience of a healing that has been outstanding to me.

A few years ago, when living in Missouri, I had the opportunity to swim and play tennis. But one autumn I began having difficulty using my right arm. The elbow and wrist troubled me, and household tasks were often painful. On a few occasions when I played tennis with my husband, who was the only one aware of the condition, the suggestion came to me that even though playing was uncomfortable, the exercise brought relief if I persisted. I saw the subtlety of this suggestion and denied that I lived in matter or that there was any condition of matter to be either painful or comfortable.

Eventually I realized my own prayerful work was not sufficient, and I called a Christian Science practitioner for help. She referred me to the verse in Psalms which says (89:13), "Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand." She recommended study in the Concordances to the Bible and to Mrs. Eddy's writings. This was most helpful. Progress was realized at once, but it became apparent that I had much to understand.
