Christian Science Church Center PROGRESS REPORT No. 23

Renewal of Thought

The thrill of work begun was in the air when a quiet but historic ground-breaking ceremony for the Christian Science Church Center was held on August 15, 1968. Excavation started immediately afterward, and work will continue at a quick pace until the project is completed.

The healing significance of the building program was brought out in a statement from The Christian Science Board of Directors read at the ceremony. "It is a deepening desire to help humanity which we mark here today," the Directors noted. "It is this desire which stirs and inspires us to go forward."

The growing activities of The Mother Church witness forward movement. Mary Baker Eddy has given the world not only a complete religious teaching but also the institutional means for communicating and sharing this healing and regenerating religion in increasing measure. The inspired plan revealed to Mrs. Eddy for meeting the physical, moral, religious, and spiritual needs of mankind provides for and demands constant renewal of thought and activity. It was Mrs. Eddy's intent that the Church of Christ, Scientist, stay abreast of the times.
