When Christian Science was first presented to me some forty years ago, I accepted it in the hope that it might answer my searching questions about the Bible. Brought up by God-fearing parents, I was taught to pray without really understanding God. I reverenced Him as the supreme power of the universe, but also as a power which sent calamities as well as blessings to His children. It was not until I began the study of Christian Science that I came to understand God as Love, and Love only, and to see that sin punishes itself. How wise, how patient was the one who guided my early steps into this wonderful truth! My questions were all answered through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and through class instruction.

Through the application of Christian Science members of our family have experienced healings of blood poisoning, stuttering, the effects of accidents, impetigo, hemorrhaging, and many other ills. Human relationships have been made harmonious and employment has been found. Painless childbirth was experienced. A forest fire that came close to wiping out the small town in which we lived fell back upon itself as the truth of the Bible statement that "power belongeth unto God" (Ps. 62:11) was applied.

I experienced a healing of heart trouble of some years' standing. I had been on vacation and was about to return home when a play I wanted to see, "Life with Father," was advertised as opening the next evening. It was postponed, however, for a few days, and I had to leave without seeing it, about which I felt very disappointed.
