Two days after the birth of our second child the medical report was that the blood in the baby was not compatible, that the count of white cells was rising, and that if it continued to rise to a critical point it would be necessary for her to have a blood transfusion. The obstetrician had kindly honored Christian Science treatment during my pregnancy. When the report regarding the baby reached him, he immediately came to me and said that I should at once call the practitioner who had been giving me treatment.

I relayed the medical report to the practitioner. Her powerful statement of truth helped me to know that God, good, was all there was, and that this battle between Spirit and flesh, good and evil, Truth and error, was not in my hands, but in God's. I knew that I was to relax and accept my freedom from a false sense of responsibility.
