Some say they do not pray because God is not real and personal to them. The truth is that God is not real to them because they do not pray....

Prayer involves both talking and listening to God.... It is not an attempt to change God's mind, but rather the expression of our desire that we may become channels of divine power so that we are able to do God's will, or to have God's will done through us.... It is not a last desperate expedient at which we frantically grasp, but a divine power welling up within us, a power that imparts a sense of adequacy to face life with both confidence and courage....
