"Delivery refused"
One day a package was delivered by mail to my house. When I saw it, I discerned from the wrapper that it contained merchandise I had not ordered and did not want. I returned the package to the post office unopened, with the notation, "Delivery refused." How simple this was! I didn't have to unwrap the package, examine its contents, worry about it, or even write a letter of explanation for rejecting it. I needed only to refuse delivery of it because it was unwanted merchandise.
How often we allow ourselves to be imposed upon by unwanted suggestions which come to us mentally for acceptance! Mortal mind, the liar, is constantly delivering false information, false thought, to the door of our consciousness. Only when it is undetected and accepted can it accomplish its mischief. We can always refuse to take into our consciousness what is not coming to us from divine Mind, God, the one and only source of true thought.
Constant vigilance is required if one is to examine each thought to see if it is acceptable. Since thought determines one's experience, the individual cannot be too discriminating about what he will or will not accept as his thought. Since the door of consciousness can be opened only from the inside, each individual is responsible for his own thinking.
