One day several years ago I went swimming with five other women. The day was ideal, and we enjoyed the sport and each other's company. That evening evidence of too long exposure to the sun became apparent, and bodily movement was painful. At first, fear assailed me, for I had been accepted for class instruction in Christian Science, and the sessions were soon to begin.
Would I be able to attend? I began praying to realize that this progressive step in Christian Science was established by Mrs. Eddy to benefit all earnest seekers for Truth so that they in turn could on occasion help others rise Godward.
I earnestly prayed to realize that I was conscious of and benefited by the eternal sunlight of the Christ, Truth, and that could only bless me. I rejected the material belief, posing as law, that undue exposure to the sun's rays must penalize or limit me in some way or cause me pain and discomfort.
