I have relied on Christian Science to meet my every need all my life. In gratitude and praise to God I offer these experiences as proofs of His ever-present healing power.

One afternoon some summers ago, my husband and I were playing badminton with another couple. After a while I began to have pains in my stomach. I withdrew from the game so that I might go into the house alone and pray as we are taught in Christian Science. By the time I reached the bedroom, the pain was so severe I could barely stand.

I began to repeat "the scientific statement of being," found on page 468 of the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The statement ends this way: "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual." Then a sentence from "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy came to me (p. 307), "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies." The previous week I had been thinking about this sentence in connection with supply. Now I could see clearly that my need was for the truth that would destroy this error. I knew that the spiritual ideas from God would supply the need. At that very instant all pain left me, and I was completely free.
