I hope that this account of my first healing in Christian Science will be encouraging to someone who is struggling with a physical difficulty and perhaps feels the daystar will never gleam for him. Keep striving; it will!
I had consulted various dermatologists, in fact, the best from the East Coast to the West, for the treatment of acne. While it was not a severe case, it was persistent. I was led to the study of Christian Science through my mother's instantaneous healing of influenza.
I can truthfully say I did not begin the study of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy to become a better person or more spiritual, but merely to beautify matter by removing the skin blemish. To my surprise I learned that I could not heal the skin condition until I improved my mental condition. It was a long struggle and at times a very discouraging one. Often the condition appeared to be worsening, which later I realized was due to my dwelling in thought on the difficulty and trying primarily to heal a physical condition.
