Enough

Enough is the objective evidence of that which satisfies a need fully, with nothing wanting and nothing in excess.

This balance, which we often find so beautifully precise and economical, is also evident in many of the promises of the Bible. That given in Deuteronomy, "The Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath," Deut. 28:13; was an inspiration to me during years of frustration and disappointment when it seemed that every avenue of advancement was blocked and the fruition of every idea thwarted.

It would have been enough for me then if recognition of certain progressive ideas in my profession which I had so much wished to have adopted, and of which I so clearly saw the benefits, could have materialized. But obviously it was not enough for me that I heed the conditions on which the fulfillment of the Bible promise depended, "It shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the Lord thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth." v. 1;
