It was the happiest day of my life when out of curiosity I picked up a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. From the start I was filled with awe, for here was the answer to my hungering and thirsting for a knowledge of God.

The most significant memory of that day is that it was Easter Sunday, 1942, when all Christendom was remembering the risen Christ. It certainly was a resurrection day for me. After the birth of my only child, I was a semi-invalid for twenty-one years.

Every available moment was spent in reading the textbook, and after reading the chapter on Prayer, and the testimonies in the chapter entitled "Fruitage,"' I was convinced that I too could be healed. The most striking revelation was the fact that I was not actually the child of Adam's rib, but the perfect child of God. From the moment I started to read Science and Health, I began to be well. All medicines were dispensed with immediately, and when I had finished the book in about a week's time, I was completely healed and felt reborn.
