Putting into Practice What We Know

"That is a good idea. Now, how will you use it?" asked a man who had harnessed many useful ideas for the benefit of the human race. His words point to the need for activity always to accompany receptivity. Theory must become practice before the benefits of contemplation can be wholly appreciated and the purpose of revelation fulfilled.

God, divine Mind, is the source of spiritual ideas, and He provides the wisdom and the opportunity for men to express them constructively and progressively. In "Miscellaneous Writings" Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, says, "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies." Mis., p. 307; To understand this is to see that He gives all the gracious qualities and enlightened thought one needs to make each day an interesting, profitable, and enjoyable experience.

When the manna fell in the wilderness to feed the children of Israel, there was more than enough to meet the daily needs of each one. But Moses instructed them, "Let no man leave of it till the morning." Ex. 16:19;
