Tilling the soil?
Oh, choose that good part—
shift from grind of physical doing;
lift up to metaphysical knowing.
Willing to toil?
Then, dig into your heart—
break up each clod of selfish pursuing.
Plow. Loosen the sod for sowing
seeds of love for God and man.
Retire from mortality—follow God's plan!
Material tasks will scream—let them!
They command the mortal dream—
forget them in putting God first
and proving yourself His son!
And what of material tasks?
(What asks?)
Under God's omnipotent grace,
they will be given subordinate place—
without soil-tilling, they will be done,
every necessary one!
