I should like to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science

I should like to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science. I have experienced many healings.

Our family came to Colorado from Kansas for my mother's health in 1901. She was suffering from tuberculosis at that time, and about a year later was entirely bedfast with the disease. Other members of the family came down with influenza, and my mother and one brother developed pneumonia. There were two doctors attending them, and one afternoon they told my father that my mother and brother would not live through the night.

Sometime before, my mother had met a Christian Scientist. When she heard the doctors' verdict, she beckoned to me and told me to go after this friend, who lived about a mile away. I was bundled up and sent on my way. This kind woman came home with me and stayed the night. The next morning, as the result of her prayers, my mother and brother were much improved. My brother was soon completely well, and in two weeks my mother was well enough to take over her home duties again. My brother grew to manhood and reared a family of six children, and my mother had three more children after this experience. She lived a long, full life.
