Man Is Wholly Good
Christian Science refutes the sense testimony that says man is engaged in a helpless or stupid race toward destruction. It does this by exposing evil for what it is—a misconception of God and man.
Mrs. Eddy explains, "Evil was, and is, the illusion of breaking the First Commandment, 'Thou shalt have no other gods before me.'" She begins the next paragraph with this startling statement: "That man can break the forever-law of infinite Love, was, and is, the serpent's biggest lie!" Miscellaneous Writings, p. 123;
This quotation was an inspiration to a Sunday School teacher who was disturbed over the trend toward degeneration. She studied the quotation along with the Scriptural account of the shattering of the first tablets containing the Decalogue.
