When man is governed by...
"When man is governed by God, the ever-present Mind who understands all things, man knows that with God all things are possible" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 180).
Understanding this and the fact that God does not give with one hand and take away with the other, I drove out of our yard and headed toward class instruction in a distant city. I had spent many prayerful hours in making the decision to go forward in this way. I had wanted to attend class each year for the four previous years, but had not been able to trust God enough.
It was harvesttime, and there was still more than half of the crop to be combined. Our boys, aged eleven, twelve, fourteen, and eighteen, were going to work the farm during my absence. Humanly they were mere children to be left with such a large responsibility. Mortal mind tried to say: "They won't set the combines right. They will throw grain over the combine sieves onto the ground. When machinery breaks down, they won't know how to repair it." Truth countered with the assurance of Love's ability to meet all human needs.
