For the past twenty years Christian Science...
For the past twenty years Christian Science has met my need whenever the truth contained in its teachings has been honestly and conscientiously applied. It has healed discordant family relationships and met my physical needs and those of my children in times of sickness and accidents. I am grateful beyond expression for moral and spiritual regeneration.
Among my most cherished blessings is the increasing unfoldment in my thought of our spiritual familyhood. The Lord's Prayer begins with the words (Matt. 6:9), "Our Father which art in heaven." Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, gives this spiritual interpretation in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 16): "Our Father-Mother God, all-harmonious."
A false sense of personal responsibility and of possessiveness seems to clamor constantly for acceptance in the heart and thought of the human parent. The recognition of God as Father-Mother has healed these tendencies within me, and I am experiencing increasing joy and freedom. It has brought surcease from anxiety, from self-will, and from impatience.
