Before reaching the age of twenty-three, and knowing nothing of Christian Science, I underwent surgery on two occasions. After both these operations specialists in attendance informed me that I could never expect to bear a child normally.

A few years later I was married; and because of the doctors' verdict, our first two children were delivered by cesarean section. When the elder was eighteen months old, I had my first contact with Christian Science and became a church member.

In due time the joyous and rewarding opportunity of class instruction opened up for me. Through this experience I gained a high sense of divine Principle and its operation in human affairs. I learned that unchanging divine law governs all that really exists and that every idea is protected and controlled by this law.
