Soon after I began the study of Christian Science I badly injured my ankle, so much so that the bone was protruding through the flesh. My husband immediately went out and sought the help of a Christian Science practitioner, and prayerful work was begun. Within a short while all fear and pain left me. I enjoyed a good night's sleep, and the following morning I arose, and, with the aid of two sticks to help me walk, I was able to prepare my husband's breakfast.
During the afternoon I was resting on a couch when my next door neighbor (who was a nurse) Came in. On removing the towel from my leg to examine the wound, she gave me her opinion that I had a compound fracture and said, "Christian Science will never heal that."
I replied, "We will see."
