A Room Prepared and Ready
A librarian writes: "Each day in the Reading Room there are new opportunities for blessing our fellowmen. Therefore, as librarians we pray with a fresh approach each morning for the love, wisdom, discretion, and guidance to serve to the best of our ability.
"One day, after I had done some consecrated metaphysical work, a young woman literally stumbled into the Reading Room. I held her hand until she regained her composure enough to speak. She was laboring under the delusion that her earnest prayers had not been answered. She was assured that her prayers certainly had been answered, because she was now in a place where she could receive help. She was invited into the study room. Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy was put into her hands, and she was left to read quietly. Soon she was composed, and her outlook brightened considerably. She was directed to use The Christian Science Journal to select a practitioner. Within the weeks that followed, she attended the church services regularly and used the Reading Room frequently. Her problem was solved.
"As I was reading a biography of our Leader one morning, it came to me clearly that it is not enough to know that man is attracted to Truth; it must be understood that man knows he is attracted to Truth. Within an hour a man came in to say that he had been sitting at home thinking how bad things had become for him when he suddenly realized that his only help was to return to the study of Christian Science. He purchased a Bible, Science and Health, and the Christian Science Quarterly.
