It is with a deep sense of gratitude...
It is with a deep sense of gratitude to God that I acknowledge the healing power of Christian Science. What a depth of gratitude we owe to Christ Jesus and Mrs. Eddy!
From early childhood I attended the Sunday School and church services at both an orthodox church and a Church of Christ, Scientist. But at the time I graduated from high school I felt I must take a definite stand for Christian Science, and I began earnestly to study. In a short time I joined both The Mother Church and a branch church, and later I had the great privilege of class instruction.
In the family we had many healings. My father's hand was caught in an alfalfa grinder and was severely mangled; so a doctor was called to dress it only. He said that because the alfalfa was embedded in the flesh the danger of poisoning was great and that my father might lose his arm unless the worst injured parts of the hand were amputated. But entire reliance was placed on Christian Science, and although gangrene did appear, it was destroyed in two or three days through the work of a faithful practitioner. Later my father used this hand freely in typing.
