"No respecter of persons"

When we are praying in Christian Science to be healed of a disease, the fact stated in Acts 10 that "God is no respecter of persons" is an important one to consider. The question, Why did this have to happen to me? is in itself an error which can be answered with the truth that God gives only good and gives it to everyone alike.

If we see someone else healed quickly of a disease we have not been healed of, we have an opportunity to observe our own thinking to see whether we are praying from the standpoint of Truth or of error. The truth is that man is the perfect spiritual idea of perfect Mind. Man is not in a material body, but he embodies the spiritual qualities of divine Principle.

If we are praying from the basis of Truth, we recognize the healing we have witnessed in another as evidence of this Truth, and we rejoice that the same Truth applies to ourselves. If, on the other hand, we are working from the basis of error, we may complain that some people get their healings quickly but that we do not.
