A financial need in my father's business, which, it was feared, was leading us to bankruptcy, brought me to Christian Science. Inside of two months I proved that "with God all things are possible" (Matt. 19:26) and that He is our provider. The needed money was brought to us in a wonderful way, the bankruptcy proceedings were dismissed, and, after giving up the business, we all found satisfying work, assuring us our income.

For me the liberating thought was this sentence from the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (Pref., p vii): "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." I am indeed thankful for Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, who has brought us the glorious truths of Science. My thanks are also due the practitioner who helped me to solve this problem.

"Fear thou not; for I am with thee" (Isa. 41:10). These words strengthened my family and me and the other occupants of our house one night in 1945 when a heavy bomb fell in front of the house. With the cry, "A mighty fortress is our God," I gave spiritual support to all, and the shaking of the house stopped. The house remained standing. Then from two sides it was as if a storm of fire were coming toward our house, the steps and balcony of which were wood. We were almost overcome with fear. Under the roar of this storm, I cried out: "Father, we thank You, for You fill all space; Your love, Your protection, embrace us all. I thank You for Your presence." Then the blaze of fire was diverted, and we all, full of gratitude, knelt in prayer.
