At the time I learned of Christian Science,...
At the time I learned of Christian Science, I was told of several healings that had been effected through the study and application of this Science, but it aroused little interest in my thinking.
However, from childhood I had suffered from croup, colds, hay fever, and asthma. Two attacks of the last disease almost proved fatal. In this extremity I remembered what I had been told about Christian Science and decided to investigate and see what it could do for me.
I asked a practitioner for help, and she assured me that my troubles could be healed. She recommended that I purchase a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and advised me to read the first chapter in it the chapter on Prayer, that evening.
