Christian Science was introduced to our family almost half a century ago by a dearly beloved grandmother, who had been a semi-invalid during most of her life. Through the study of Science and the help of consecrated practitioners, she was healed.

My mother became interested in Science through witnessing this healing and was able to prove its efficacy many times. Later, my father was healed of a serious stomach ailment through absolute reliance on the truth and became an earnest student. At the same time, he was able to overcome the habits of smoking and social drinking. I had the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School from the age of four; and shortly after reaching the age of twenty I became a member of The Mother Church and a branch church.

All through my life, Science has been a constant source of inspiration and of help in times of need, a fortress in times of trouble, indeed, the divine Comforter. It gave me peace of mind during world War II when my husband and my brother were in the midst of battle. Both of them came out unscathed. It has guided me in rearing our three children, who have attended a Christian Science Sunday School since babyhood.
