What Is Health?
Christ Jesus must have had an understanding of the true nature of health, for he was able to restore it with a word of Truth in much the same way that any falsity is disposed of. Mrs. Eddy writes of him as follows (Science and Health, p. 313): "Jesus of Nazareth was the most scientific man that ever trod the globe. He plunged beneath the material surface of things, and found the spiritual cause."
Finding divine Mind, not matter, to be the source of health, Christian Science makes clear that health is available to anyone who is willing to exchange a material sense of it for the spiritual sense.
Because health is of God, it partakes of the nature of infinite good and has no element of harm in it. God's will for man is that he be perfect, and perfect health is sustained by His immutable law. No one's health can really be lost, because it is inseparable from omnipresent divine Mind in which man exists. It cannot be destroyed, because Spirit's qualities are indestructible.
