Many years ago a painful condition of my back kept me in bed most of the time over a period of two years. I was examined and treated by thirteen doctors in all, including chiropractors, MD's and specialists, and I even had my teeth taken out. Nothing wrong could be found, and I was told to rest.

Then a friend recommended that I try Christian Science. He had suffered much from a hernia until it was healed in Science. I decided to visit a practitioner. On my way to his office the pain forced me to stop three times.

The practitioner told me that God is Love and that He is Principle, the source of all law, and therefore it would be impossible for God to be less than Love. He read from the textbook (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 380), "Nothing is more disheartening than to believe that there is a power opposite to God, or good, and that God endows this opposing power with strength to be used against Himself, against Life, health, harmony." This sounded logical to me.
