Identity Is Joyous
To be conscious of oneself, one must be filled to overflowing with joy. This is true because one's true self is the reflection of Spirit, God. True self-consciousness is in Soul, the divine Mind.
God is good, and all that He has created is good. He is All, and His ideas have their substance in Himself. Since He is good, true consciousness can know only that which is good. But the things of God are much more than what we humanly consider to be good. To contemplate Spirit's realities is to be inspired and radiantly joyous. To recognize the things of Mind is to experience by reflection some of the self-satisfaction that Soul must know in viewing its own infinite grandeur.
Of course, we do not usually experience as much of the joy of Soul as we should like to. There seem to be so many things to worry over. And many human circumstances seem to force unhappiness upon us. But Christian Science shows that something can be done about these things. The circumstances can be changed.
