In the Bible we are told, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear" (I John 4:18). This statement helped me when I was fearful about making a decision.
At the beginning of one school semester, I broke my collarbone. I could not lift my arm, and I was afraid that the bone would not heal correctly if it was not set. But I wanted to rely on Christian Science; so I talked to a practitioner about the situation. She assured me that man, God's perfect, spiritual idea, has never fallen. She also said she would help me lift my thought. After talking to her, I was not afraid anymore and decided not to have the bone set.
I asked to be excused from my job in the school cafeteria and from gymnasium class for one week. During that week I held my thought steadfastly to the truth, as we are told to do in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. At the end of the week I returned to my gym class and to my job, fully able to do what was required of me in both. The collarbone assumed its normal appearance in a few weeks. I was perfectly healed.
