Teaching Our Children to Obey
"Knowing that man reflects... divine Love... we,
can... overcome false trails of character"
It is generally accepted throughout the world that children need to be obedient. As parents and others dealing with them endeavor to teach children the importance of obedience, they may find it helpful from time to time to reexamine their motives for doing so. In the busy routine of daily living it is certainly convenient for us as parents or teachers to have obedient children; it is orderly; it gives us a sense of personal satisfaction. However, we must remember that the primary purpose of teaching children to obey is not to benefit ourselves but to benefit them.
