My heart overflows with gratitude...

My heart overflows with gratitude to God for all the good I have received through the knowledge of Christian Science. I am grateful to have had the privilege of being brought up in this religion and for having been able to attend Sunday School. All through my childhood I had wonderful proofs of God's care and protection. While I was at school in Switzerland and my parents were in the East, Science was a great comfort to me.

At one time a cyst developed on my eyelid, and I decided to work the problem out for myself. However, when after some months it had not cleared, my Sunday School teacher offered to help me.

She pointed out to me that I had been trying to make sick matter well instead of declaring man's perfection as a child of God and realizing that any seeming imperfection is only an illusion. She gave me several passages from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy to study during the school holidays. When I returned to school the following term, the cyst had entirely disappeared.
